The whole process of licensing and registration is conducted electronically through the Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS), replacing the previous system of FLRS.

The steps that need to be followed are as follows:

• Visit the FoSCoS Portal: You need to visit the FoSCoS portal and register your business account, or you log in if you already have an account.

Steps To Apply for a Tatkal License

 

• Visit the FoSCoS portal and select the option for Instant Tatkal registration. 
• Enter your business details, upload the necessary documents, and fill up the self declaration form to declare your eligibility. 
• Pay the annual fee. 
• The Aadhaar, PAN, GST, or CIN will be verified electronically. 
• Once this process is complete, the license or registration will be issued instantly with disclaimers.

Note: When applying under the Tatkal Licensing Scheme, the license is issued on a self declaration basis. This means that even after getting the license, the FSSAI will still be free to carry out verification.

 

Fees and Validity of a Tatkal License

 

Fees: The government does not charge an extra fee for Tatkal Licensing. The normal fee of ₹100/year is applicable for the Basic Registration certificate.
